Utility-Scale Solar Photovoltaic Power Plants: A Project Developer’s Guide

WE aim to enhance the understanding of how to successfully develop, finance, construct, and operate utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants. It targets project developers entering a market and is also meant to serve as a reference source for contractors, investors, government decision makers, and other stakeholders working on PV projects in emerging markets. It covers aspects of the project development process that are specific to solar and provides guidance on the overall process including identification, plant design, energy yield, permits/licenses, contractual arrangements, and financing. This version is a substantially expanded second edition of the 2011 IFC publication, “Utility-Scale Solar Power Plants”. Substantial progress in the number of PV projects implemented globally and dramatic reduction in PV technology prices created the need for an update in this fast moving market.

TECHNICAL DESIGN, ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION

Optimizing the full power of solar energy requires careful calibration of the system and all its components. In meeting our clients’ objectives, the process of selecting the right technology is absolutely crucial.

We streamline our designs to ensure we can smoothly execute projects on any scale. Our team will help:

  • Perform an initial power study
  • Design an optimum PV system (On Grid/ Off Grid)
  • Offer technical engineering services for projects
  • Project-manage the construction work scope.
  • Consult on future expansion and power requirements
  • Ensure compliance on all safety requirements

Product Installations And Project Management

WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON QUALITY SERVICE, ADVICE AND INSTALLATION.

We only supply products that have a proven track record and forfill on there warranty claims.
Installation reports and Accountability

  1. All our installers have extensive product training, technical and academic, by either the manufacturer themselves or by our in house technical engineers.
  2. New Installers have to do at least 5 installations under the guidance of a older more experienced franchisee.
  3. All our Installations have to adhere to our 25 point checklist before they are accepted and signed off by our Head office.
  4. The online installation reports also include photos of the installation, in regards to standardised wiring and plumbing practices, whereby Electrical and Plumber Certificates of Conformity are needed for all installations.
  5. These installation reports are crucial for us to keep quality control over our national franchise base.
